German A2 Writing Practice — das Schreiben

A2 writing moves from single sentences to short, real messages: emails, cancellations, and simple accounts of things that happened.

Step 1: Write about a past experience

Use Perfekt to describe something you did recently. Try writing 3-4 sentences using the pattern below.

Letztes Wochenende habe ich... Ich bin auch... gefahren/gegangen. Es war...

Step 2: Write a short email to cancel an appointment

A real, useful structure for cancelling politely:

Sehr geehrte Frau Schmidt,
leider muss ich meinen Termin am Montag absagen, weil ich krank bin.
Könnten wir einen neuen Termin vereinbaren?
Vielen Dank für Ihr Verständnis.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen, [Name]

Step 3: Write a short complaint email

Use the pattern from the A2 Reading lesson (Ein Problem mit meiner Bestellung) as a model — state the problem, say what you tried, and say what you want.

Tip: Before you finish writing, check three things: is your Partizip II correct, does the verb go to the end after weil/dass/wenn, and have you used du/Sie consistently for the right person?
